About

OUR MISSION

Gritizen was started to close the gap between powerful technology and the real-world environments where that technology has to work. Too often, manufacturers are sold software, AI tools, or generic consulting without the hands-on implementation needed to create meaningful impact. We saw an opportunity to help manufacturers modernize in a more practical way: by going on site, understanding how each business actually runs, and building solutions around real workflows, real teams, and real outcomes. At the same time, we want to bring young, passionate, technically fluent professionals into manufacturing and show them that this is one of the most important, challenging, and exciting places to build a career with longevity and meaning.

Furthermore, manufacturing is facing a looming workforce cliff: roughly a quarter of U.S. manufacturing workers are already 55 or older, meaning many experienced operators, technicians, and skilled tradespeople are likely to retire within the next 5-10 years. At the same time, the sector is projected to need millions of new workers by 2033, with a large share of those roles at risk of going unfilled, making talent a direct constraint on growth. The challenge is not just replacing headcount; it is replacing decades of tacit shop-floor knowledge in maintenance, quality, troubleshooting, safety, and process optimization. Automation, AI, and smart-factory tools can help reduce some labor pressure, but they also raise the skill bar, requiring workers who can blend hands-on manufacturing expertise with digital and technical capabilities.

As reshoring, semiconductor, EV, aerospace, and defense investments increase demand for industrial labor, many manufacturers are racing to build stronger apprenticeship pipelines, mentoring programs, phased-retirement models, and digital knowledge-transfer systems before their most experienced workers leave.

We believe manufacturing's next chapter won't be written by software vendors or consultants. It'll be written by people who genuinely understand the work and the technology in equal measure. Gritizen is here to build that bridge: preserving hard-won expertise, modernizing how the work gets done, and showing a new generation that the factory floor is one of the most meaningful places to build a career.

What We Believe

People-First Partnership

A hands-on, people-first operating partner - not a distant consultant. We show up on site, get to know you, and stay in the weeds until the job is done.

Practical Over Perfect

We build solutions that work in the real world, not in a demo. If it does not make your team more capable, we do not build it.

Knowledge Preservation

Every retiring worker takes decades of expertise with them. We help capture that knowledge before it walks out the door.

Next Generation Focus

Manufacturing needs young talent. We help make the industry visible, accessible, and inspiring to the next generation.

The Challenge We Are Solving

3.8M
Workers Needed by 2033

The manufacturing industry faces a massive labor shortage as demand grows and the workforce ages out.

1 in 4
Workers Age 55+

A quarter of the manufacturing workforce is approaching retirement, taking decades of knowledge with them.

50%
Unfilled Positions

Half of open manufacturing jobs could go unfilled by 2033 due to skills gaps and perception challenges.
